outfit: shades of blue & pink

» Jeanshemd (ZARA)
» Jamie Jeans (Topshop)
» Mantel (ASOS)
» Sneakers (Superga)
» Rucksack (Zara)
» Sonnenbrille (RayBan)
» Ring mit grünen Stein (Sabrina Dehoff)
» Nagellack (YSL Nr. 48 Rose Scabiosa)

I’ve been obsessed with the color yellow lately. As I can’t wait for our Lisbon trip next week I ‚ve put together my ideal holiday look matching my love for yellow. We won’t face midsummery temperatures but I’ll still buy this dress from ZARA (it’s perfection!!!), that’s for sure. Until then I’ll keep my fingers crossed for good and rain-free weather.
Do you like the color yellow?

2013 Blog Retrospect

Likely to what I said about 2012 this past year was super exciting, full of good memories, travel experiences and cool new projects. Let’s look back together on what happened in 2013. I can’t wait to see what 2014 will bring us.

January:

2012 started kinda bittersweet for me as I had the best time and probably best new years ever with my sister in Lisbon (that’s when I fell in love with the city, just like she already did) but also was single again after 3 years when I was back home. You can find our Lisbon diaries here and here. Fahion week in Berlin was a good distraction though and that’s also when I met Jasmin aka Madametamtam for the very first time – felt like we knew each other for ages! ♥ In the meantime Desi enjoyed the last weeks of her semester abroad in Portugal.

February:

As Desi was not able to join me to San Francisco last year she got invited to the Adidas NEO Runway with Selena Gomez – in New York! How cool is that?! I was super excited for her and she definitely had a great trip.

March:

In March Desi was on a trip to Lisbon again. That’s also when she created toe probably most beautiful post ever: Patterns of Portugal. In the meantime I dyed my hair – hello ombré hair!

April:

That month some really good stores opened their doors in Berlin: & other stories and Monki for example. I also entered the O’Neill x Fahsiolista contest – and I won! As a prize I will join the brand on a photo shoot in a exotic location in May this year. It may be Hawaii, Santa Cruz or Brasilien, it is not decided yet but I surely can’t wait! Desi got a visit from Kaya, her friend and former room mate in Lisbon and I did my first run of the year.

May:

In May we took each others favorite outfit pictures of the year. Love Desi in that photo, with her bike and her boyfriend jeans, so cool and casual. And Desi picked this jumping photo as her favorite. I treated myself with a pair of Prada sunglasses and new camera equiptment – softboxes! We got invoted to go to the Duftstars Awards 2013 with Point-Rouge (post 1 & post 2), Desi took amazing pictures for the launch of Yves Saint Laurent’s Baby Doll collection and finally the sun came out – we love warm weather!

Juni:

In June I was at a very beautiful event of Mint & Berry where I met lovely and also gorgeous looking Magdalena from HoardsOfTrends. We had some other cool store openings such as Pull & Bear (took the picture of me and my dear friend Nadine there) and Forever 21, I enjoyed the summer and good ice cream and Hokey Pokey. Desi was in Lisbon (again!) and back in Berlin she joined me at the Beautybloggercafe where she took that fun picture with lovely Anna from Bildhübsch.

July:

In July it was time Fashion Week and some really cool events. I also attended the Launch of the Selena Gomez for Adidas NEO collection where me, Lois and Anni took that fun picture with her which ended up all over Twitter :D Kinda cool. Downside of this time of the year are the exams – lot of studying to do! But we still had time to celebrate our 23th brithday :)

August:

In the summer we both couldn’t resist not to spend it in Lisbon. Again, we went to beautiful places. See for yourself in our instagram diaries. After that Desi visited her friends in Barcelona and Krakow and Warsaw.

September:

September wasn’t less exciting as I had a nice little trip to London with Nadine and back home Jasmin stayed with us for almost two months for her internship in Berlin – it was as we had another sister! I also got the chance to gibe proof of my photography skills and shot a feature for the 9th issue of the sisterMAG magazine. This was also the month when I finally decided to give a Youtube try and uploaded my very first video on our channel teetharejadecom.

October:

In october we went to a Halloween party – it was pretty wicked I must admit, our costumes were dope! I also remember out day trip to Hamburg for the Hoss Intropia show room and my overnight at Talisa’s and our lovely brunch the next day.

November:

In November I was at a very exciting Breuninger event in Düsseldorf  where I met old blog friends and also blogger starlet Kristina Bazan from Kayture. Then I went to Hamburg to see Tom Odell live in concert – it was amazing! And at the end of the month we both worked with sisterMAG again, but this time to model for their beauty feature!

December:

From one busy month to another. In December I first travelled to Düsseldorf (and the Orcan Xavier was one pain in the ass, I can tell you) to shoot a video for Douglas. You can watch the final result and my look for New Years Eve here. After that we and some friends flew to Nürnberg and spend some lovely days with Adidas, Christkindlesmarkt, a good dinner and sauna inlcuded. And of course there was Christmas!

So that was our 2013. How was your’s? What were your highlights?
With that we wish you a very happy new year! ♥

The shopping-ban continues…
view post

via Tumblr

7. Geschenke sind ebenfalls nicht vom Verbot betroffen
8. Das Verbot dauert bis zum 31. Dezemember 2013 an.

Remember my new year’s resoltuions at the beginning of 2013? One important part was the 6 months shopping-ban where I challenged myself not to buy more than one piece per month. Well, I’ve listed every buy I made this year so far and at the end I’ve bought 3 pieces per month instead of only one. Obviously I failed to follow the rules completely but 3 pieces are still not that bad (for me!!!). Even at my trips to Lisbon or London I didn’t go too crazy with shopping and only bought 5 and 3 pieces. Altogether my shopping behavior got much more conscious. I want to keep that up and even want to do a second round of the shopping-ban, starting now in September.

Here are my rules:
1. I am only allowed to buy one piece per month. This piece could be any non-functional piece of clothing, shoes or bags.
2. Since I want to buy one specific ring on my wishlist that buy won’t count.
3. Functional pieces such as sportswear and workout equipment, underwear, nightwear, furnishings or beauty products are allowed. But there are some limits: I only need one top for workout, as well as only one new yoga mat and weights (see Wishlist) and also one new PJ for fall/winter – nothing more! And as for cosmetics: either I used up an equivalent product or it’s on my wishlist, no impulse buys!
4. For „buys abroad“ (like USA or France) I have a special limit of 1-3 beauty products.
5. Selling stuff on my Tictail or Kleiderkreisel does not allow me some extra buys!
6. Again, products or gift vouchers as a result of cooperations don’t count.
7. Gifts are not forbidden either.
8. The ban lasts until the 31th December 2013. So until the end of the year and right before the winter sale starts (though I aim for a special limit of let’s say 3 pieces at the sale in January)

I wonder if I will really follow the rules this time. But it’s definitely very motivating to see a trend for more conscious shopping behavior in the blogosphere. Madeleine started to have a 3 months shopping-ban even before beginning of the year, Van Anh started her „semi-shopping-ban“ just recently and Mia who was the inspiration for a lot of us already pulled off her very strict shopping ban completely!

How about you and your shopping habits?

Outfit: Last days of summer

» Tanktop (Weekday)
» High-Waisted Shorts (ZARA)
» Seiden-Kaftan (Twenty One Degrees)*
» Alexander Wang Rockie Bag
» Sneakers (Superga)
» Armbanduhr (Marc by Marc Jacobs)
» Above-the-knuckle-Ring (The Bohemian Collective)
» Nagellack (Essie „Blanc“)

Now we really had our last days of summer – so sad! At least I could wear my high-waisted shorts from Zara I bought in Lisbon one last time. Since it was warm but still not midsummer-ish and I also din’t want to show too much skin I throw on this silk kaftan from Twenty One Degrees as well. Isn’t it strange that it’s much more comfortable to wear short clothing items on vacation than at home? Well, maybe it’s also because of the really relaxed metality in Portugal or because of that true ’summer feeling‘. Can I please go back btw?!

How about you – do you dress differently on holiday?
